Prof. ANARGIROS (Argiris) I. DELIS
Dr Anargiros (Argiris) I. Delis, is a Mathematician, and full Professor of “Computational Mathematics” at the School of Production Engineering & Management of the Technical University of Crete, Greece, where he has been working since 2003. He is a graduate of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Crete (TUC), in 1993, holder of an M.Sc., in Numerical Analysis & Computing, from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (UMIST), U.K. and has received his PhD from the University of the West of England, Bristol, U.K. in Applied and Computational Mathematics in 1998. From 2000 to 2004 he worked as a visiting professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Crete and the Department of Sciences at TUC. In 2004 he assumed the duties of a Lecturer at the Department of Sciences at TUC and in 2008 he was elected Assistant Professor. In 2013 he was elected Associate Professor at the School of Production Engineering & Management and in 2022 full Professor.
He has more than 20 years of experience in research and development programs, funded by the Greek State and the European Union. He has served as principal investigator in 3 Research and Development programs, while he has worked in an additional 10. His research focuses in the area of Numerical Methods for PDEs, Computational Fluid Dynamics and more generally in the area of Scientific Computing. He has completed the supervision of 1 Doctoral thesis, while he is currently supervising an additional 2, and 12 M.Sc. thesis. He is the co-author of 35 articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters and more than 25 articles in peer-reviewed scientific conference proceedings. He currently serves as an associate editor in the journals Water (MDPI) and Dynamics (MDPI).
